Live-in care jobs
Apply HereMost people with a spinal cord injury want to live in their own home, many want to follow a chosen career and some want to challenge the limits of their independence. Origin’s Care Options are available nationwide and are designed to enable you to make those choices. Consider the various live-in care options we are able to offer and select the one you feel most appropriate to your needs….permanent or temporary.
To register your initial needs with Origin, simply complete the two page, on line form. Where possible any additional information will be gathered verbally.
Fully Managed Care gives you continuous care with no hassle. Origin will work closely with you to identify the best combination of permanent and respite carers. You have the overall control of the care package but we handle the bureaucracy including, recruitment, training, sick/holiday cover, payroll etc. for a fixed weekly charge.
Respite support can be used for a few days or weeks when your permanent PA is on leave or when a family member is unavailable. Our respite care service is an ideal way for you to become familiar with our services.
You may choose an open ended and ongoing respite care option to give you continuous cover whilst allowing you to meet a variety of Personal Assistants (PAs) prior to your making long-term care arrangements.
If you prefer to employ your own PA but find recruitment and training a chore, Origin can take on this responsibility so you don’t have to – you can even meet and try our PAs until you find the right one for you.
We can also train your PA for you by enrolling them onto our specialist spinal injury training course, to equip them with all the skills they need.
Discharge from the spinal unit can be quite daunting as you face a very different life ahead. Origin can support you in this transition by providing experienced PAs to assist you in establishing and managing a care routine in your own home. Our Advanced PAs have all worked with Origin for a number of years and have been assessed for their capability and suitability for this role.
Developed to support those starting university or returning for a new term. Packages include personal care and other assistance you may need such as note taking during lectures. Origin will liaise with your university to discuss issues such as access, accommodation and equipment.
Origin’s national and international Travel/Holiday Care Service can provide a trained PA to accompany you on holiday. This may enable you to take an independent holiday or with the additional support take a well deserved break or holiday with all your family and friends.
We can also provide a PA to accompany you on business trips in the UK or overseas.
